MW4 Season 1: release date, maps, weapons and DMZ X01
Short answer: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 goes live at 12:00 AM ET on November 6, 2026 (9:00 PM PT on November 5). It adds three multiplayer maps at launch, a new DMZ location called X01, the Cronen Osprey assault rifle and the CSG-35 SMG, and two Warzone maps, Hajin and Zodiac (official announcement).

New weapons
Both launch weapons come through the Season 1 Battle Pass, so they unlock as you level it rather than instantly. The Cronen Osprey is an assault rifle (Tier 16, 882 RPM, 30-round magazine), which Activision describes as combining speed with moderate power. Don't confuse it with the Cronen Squall, a launch AR. The CSG-35 is an SMG (Tier 36, 1,200 RPM, 28 rounds) for close range, and Activision says it has the highest fire rate in its class. Stats are from the official Season 1 post on Steam. Maps and modes
- Launch maps: Backstab (war-torn, bad weather), Canyon (rock walls, river and cliff paths), and a reimagined Shoot House set in snowy North Korea.
- Launch modes: Grind (collect dog tags and bank them) and Drop Zone (hold a rotating objective while killstreak packages drop).
- Mid-season: Ministry (an embassy map), Overflow (a factory and farmland), and the Counter Attack mode (detonate bombs at the enemy Comm Station while defending your own).

DMZ: X01
X01 is a weapons facility seized by enemy forces. It is a maze of tunnels with shifting hazards, and extraction points close off as the run goes on. It adds new DMZ Orders, Threat Briefing boss hunts, and Resupply Runs.
Warzone
Season 1 brings two new Warzone maps, Hajin and Zodiac. The Call of Duty Blog says full Warzone intel arrives November 2. We will link it and re-check these facts once it is published.
Battle Pass
The pass has 100+ unlockable items on a linear 100-tier track. A new catch-up system automatically moves premium buyers who fall behind up to the reward for the current day of the season, up to day 50, guaranteeing 50+ rewards. The pass costs 1,100 COD Points, or 2,400 COD Points for the Battle Pass Bundle (Call of Duty Blog). Later in the season, the JAK 12 shotgun and the ZLR Talonhawk melee axe arrive.
