Xbox Free Play Days This Weekend: WUCHANG, Dead by Daylight, Darkwood, Spirittea and EVERSPACE 2
Oct 30, 2026: Five games are free to try on Xbox this weekend, and one of them doesn't need Game Pass at all. Here is what's included, who can play, until when, and the discounts if you want to keep playing.
Free for Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and Essential members
Available from Thursday, Oct. 29 until Sunday, Nov. 1, per Xbox Wire:
| Game | What it is | Deal (per Xbox Wire) |
|---|---|---|
| WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers | Soulslike action RPG set in the late Ming Dynasty | Both editions and the Deluxe Upgrade DLC 30% off |
| Darkwood | Survival horror: scavenge by day, survive the night | No discount stated in the post |
| Spirittea | Cozy life sim: run a bathhouse for troublesome spirits | Full game 50% off |
| EVERSPACE 2 | Fast single-player space shooter with loot | 80% off; expansions (Titans, Wrath of the Ancients) up to 50% off |
Xbox Wire says Spirittea and EVERSPACE 2 are available across console and PC.
Free for every Xbox member: Dead by Daylight
Dead by Daylight is free to try on console without a Game Pass membership through Nov. 2. The base game is up to 60% off, with discounts on select DLC until Nov. 4. The event "Haunted by Daylight" is live in the game.
Note: Xbox Wire's post gives two different start dates for Dead by Daylight (Oct. 28 in the intro, Oct. 29 in the game's own section). Either way, it is playable now.
How to play
Per Xbox Wire: on console, open the Subscriptions tab in the Xbox Store and go to the Free Play Days collection. On the web, each game's page on Xbox.com links to the Microsoft Store, where you need to be signed in to see the install option. Progress, Gamerscore and achievements carry over if you buy the game.
Discounts and availability can vary by title and region.
Our pick
If you like hard action RPGs, WUCHANG is the most substantial try-before-you-buy here. If you're curious about Phantom Blade Zero after its big launch this week (see our launch, specs and price story), WUCHANG is a free way to see if this kind of combat is for you. EVERSPACE 2 at 80% off is the strongest deal on the list.
What's confirmed / not confirmed
Confirmed (Xbox Wire, Oct. 29, 2026): the five games, eligibility, end dates and discounts listed above.
Not confirmed: exact sale prices in your region (Xbox gives percentages only) and Darkwood's discount, if any.
