Deadlock Patch Changes (Oct 30, 2026): What to Change in Your Build, Mid-Boss Crystal Play, and Item Swaps

By MetaPatchAI Guides Team · Edited by MetaPatchAI Staff
Deadlock patch changes for Oct 30, 2026, turned into a practical checklist: what changed for your role's items, how to play the new 3-crystal Mid-Boss, and which items to swap. Every number comes from Valve's official patch notes (Steam, posted Oct 30, 2026 at 4:51 PM ET, rechecked Oct 31). Valve doesn't label changes as buffs or nerfs, and MetaPatchAI didn't test anything in-game. For the full hero-by-hero list and the Halloween event, read our news article: Deadlock Halloween 2026 Update.
Steps (start here)
- Find your role below and check the items you usually buy.
- Learn the new Mid-Boss crystal sequence before your next match.
- Use the swap table to replace items whose numbers dropped.
- Check your own hero in the full change list.
1. Build changes by role
Every number is Valve's. The short tips after some numbers (for example "lead moving targets more") are our interpretation of those numbers, not tested results.
Gun carry
- High-Velocity Rounds: bullet velocity 60% → 45% (upgrades unaffected). Your shots now travel slower, so lead moving targets more.
- Higher numbers on weapon items: Battle Vest weapon damage 18% → 22%, Glass Cannon 80% → 85%, Armor Piercer chance 55% → 60%, Golden Goose Egg damage penalty -15% → -12%.
- Express Shot: secondary-fire weapon damage and growth -5%.
- Shadow Weave: no more Ambush Fire Rate or Melee Damage. It now gives +50% Ambush Weapon Damage, which builds up over 6s of stealth (the stealth UI pulses when it's fully charged). Wait for the pulse before you open fire.
- Hunter's Aura no longer affects enemies out of line of sight or through walls.
- Lifesteal: Bullet Lifesteal (weapon damage 6% → 10%, lifesteal 13% → 15%), Vampiric Burst (active 70% → 75%, bullet lifesteal 13% → 15%, weapon damage 6% → 10%), Leech (28% → 30%) and Fury Trance (lifesteal 14% → 15%, weapon damage 6% → 10%, move speed +1m → +1.5m) were all buffed.
Spirit carry
- Spirit Sap: cooldown 18s → 22s, cast range 40m → 35m.
- Radiant Regeneration: Heal on Ability Cast 65 → 40 and now only triggers in combat; boon scaling 1.7 → 1.4; Regen on Spirit Damage scaling 0.35 → 0.25. Casting out of combat no longer heals you.
- Now scaling with Spirit Power: Lightning Scroll damage (0.35; dash slow -10% → -12%) and Healing Nova (1.1, instead of 6 per Boon).
- Spiritual Overflow spirit power 6 → 8. Spirit Lifesteal: spirit power 6 → 8, lifesteal 13% → 15%. Infuser: active lifesteal 70% → 75%, spirit lifesteal 13% → 15%, spirit power 6 → 8.
- Faster casts and cooldowns: Echo Shard post-cast 0.5s → 0.2s; Focus Lens cooldown 45s → 40s.
Frontline / tank
- Higher numbers: Bullet Resilience (bullet resist 30% → 35%, out-of-combat regen 3 → 5), Juggernaut (health regen +8 → +15), Torment Pulse (melee resist 18% → 22%), Silence Wave (bonus health +50 → +90).
- Lower numbers: Spirit Shielding spirit resist 18% → 15%; Rebuttal parry cooldown reduction -1.75s → -1.25s.
- Metal Skin now raises your gravity by 20% while active.
- Return Fire now also returns the damage you take from Haze's Fixation.
Support
- Divine Barrier: cooldown 45s → 55s.
- Healing Booster: no longer builds from Extra Regen and loses its +3 Health Regen; out-of-combat regen +1 → +2.
- Healing Nova now scales with Spirit Power (1.1) instead of Boons (6).
- Anti-heal is up: Toxic Bullets 35% → 40%, Crippling Headshot -35% → -40%, Decay -50% → -55%. Healbane now stacks from multiple sources (with diminishing returns), but its heal on hero kill dropped from 275 to 170 + 3 per Boon.
- Slows: Point Blank slow 2s → 2.5s; Mystic Slow dash slow -10% → -12%.
2. Mid-Boss crystal play
The numbers (Valve): - Health and health per minute +20% - Resistance reductions are only 50% as effective against it - Roar happens at 25% HP (was 50%) - Bounty is 1500 (+25/min) (was 3000 (+50/min)) - The arena is "a little bigger now and has more cover" - The Rejuvenator drops as 3 crystals in random, evenly spaced spots around the pit. Each one breaks with 1 heavy melee and gives your team 1 Rejuvenator (still 3 per kill), a full heal (Valve says the full heal "applies to each crystal" but doesn't say who receives it), and a 500 (+9/min) bounty to the player who breaks it. - The crystals drop after 7.5s (was 6s)
How to play it (our interpretation of Valve's numbers, not tested in-game): 1. Plan for a longer fight. The boss has 20% more health, and resistance-shred items work only half as well on it. 2. Expect the Roar late, at 25% HP. 3. Spread out. The 3 crystals are in random spots around the pit, so assign one teammate to each. 4. Break each crystal with a heavy melee. One hit breaks it. 5. Use crystals to heal. Every crystal carries its own full heal and a 500 (+9/min) bounty for the player who breaks it, not just the first one. 6. Count the 7.5s drop time before you commit to a crystal.
Baba players: Granny Long Legs' heavy-melee stomp now hits only the closest Rejuvenator in range.
3. Item swaps
The "What changed" column is Valve's numbers; the "Swap or check" column is our interpretation of them, not tested in-game.
| If you relied on… | What changed | Swap or check |
|---|---|---|
| Radiant Regeneration for out-of-combat healing | Heal on Ability Cast now only triggers in combat (65 → 40) | Healing Booster's out-of-combat regen rose from +1 to +2; Bullet Resilience's from 3 to 5 |
| Spirit Shielding for spirit resist | 18% → 15% | Compare it against your other defensive options at the same cost |
| Healbane for heal on kill | 275 → 170 + 3 per Boon, but it now stacks | Use it for anti-heal stacking; Toxic Bullets (40%), Crippling Headshot (-40%) and Decay (-55%) were all raised |
| High-Velocity Rounds for velocity | 60% → 45% | Battle Vest (22%) and Glass Cannon (85%) now give more weapon damage |
| Divine Barrier on cooldown | 45s → 55s | Time it for the biggest fight, not every fight |
| Spirit Sap from long range | 22s cooldown, 35m range | Use it from closer, less often |
Confirmed / Not confirmed
Confirmed (Valve's Oct 30, 2026 patch notes): every number in this guide.
Our own count (MetaPatchAI's reading of Valve's notes, not a Valve classification): - Counting main-mode changes only (not Street Brawl), Rat King and Violet got the most clear-cut nerfs, 8 or more each depending on how you classify changes like Still Life's new line-of-sight rule, with Baba close behind at 7. - Solomon was reworked: he lost gun damage and Rook Battery damage but gained spirit scaling on Setup Bishop and Develop Queen. - All six lifesteal items were buffed: Bullet Lifesteal, Spirit Lifesteal, Fury Trance, Infuser, Leech and Vampiric Burst. - Valve itself doesn't label changes as buffs or nerfs.
Not confirmed: - Win-rate impact of any change, or any tier ranking - Which heroes are the "latest 6" (now bannable in ranked) - Sugar Rush's stats - Any post-patch hotfix (none on Steam as of Oct 31, 2026, about 12:20 PM ET)
