Meta Quietly Ships "Style Sketch": An AI Stylist That Builds Your Closet From Your Instagram Photos

Sources: Meta Platforms' official App Store listing for Style Sketch (Indonesia storefront, checked Oct 30, 2026); third-party reporting from TechCrunch (Aisha Malik, Oct 29, 2026) and Engadget (Mariella Moon, Oct 30, 2026)

Oct 30, 2026: Meta has a new AI app, and it wants to dress you. Style Sketch is a free outfit planner, listed on the App Store under developer Meta Platforms, Inc. It turns photos of clothes you already own into a virtual wardrobe, then uses AI to put together outfits, show them on a model matched to your body, and plan what to pack for a trip.

Meta didn't announce it. TechCrunch reported on Oct 29, 2026 that the app "quietly launched" after social media consultant Matt Navarra spotted it, and said Meta didn't respond to a request for comment.

What Style Sketch does (per Meta's App Store listing)

Meta's listing pitches it as "Your wardrobe, styled daily." Its features include:

  • A closet that builds itself: "Connect to Instagram and your closet builds itself from the photos you've already shared." You can also add items by snapping a photo, shooting a quick video or importing from your camera roll.
  • Outfits from what you own: combinations "built entirely from your own wardrobe, matched to your body, your style." The listing adds "No shopping required."
  • Virtual try-on: looks shown "on a realistic model matched to your body shape and skin tone."
  • Restyling one piece: pick a jacket or pair of shoes you never wear and get "fresh looks built around it."
  • Daily looks: "Your look for today, with the weather already factored in."
  • Trip packing: give it your destination and trip length for "a day-by-day outfit plan that accounts for the forecast and what you're actually doing."

The listing says the app is free, needs iOS 18.0 or later, is rated 18+, and points to Instagram's terms and privacy policy.

Where you can get it

According to TechCrunch and Engadget, Style Sketch is available on iOS and Android in Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand. TechCrunch says "it's unknown whether Meta plans to launch Style Sketch more widely." We confirmed the iOS listing on Apple's Indonesian storefront. We didn't independently check availability in other countries.

The privacy label is worth reading

This is an app built from your personal photos, so the App Store privacy section matters. Meta's label on the listing says the data that "may be collected and linked to your identity" includes purchases, location, contact info, contacts, user content, search history, browsing history, identifiers, usage data and sensitive info.

The label also lists categories that may be used for third-party advertising, including purchase history, coarse location, email address, name, contacts, photos or videos, and sensitive info. The label doesn't explain how any of that data is used inside Style Sketch.

Part of Meta's app-shipping spree

TechCrunch frames Style Sketch as one of several recent experimental Meta apps, alongside Waddle World (which it describes as an AI Tamagotchi-style app), Pocket (a game vibe-coding tool) and Vibes (AI video). TechCrunch also cites a Wall Street Journal report that Mark Zuckerberg told employees Meta plans to release far more apps as AI makes them faster to ship. Those are TechCrunch's and the WSJ's claims; Meta hasn't commented.

TechCrunch notes that rivals like Alta and Google Photos already offer AI closets, and suggests Meta's edge is Instagram integration.
