Fatekeeper Patch 0.1.4 Adds Controller Support and 5 Languages, With a Price Increase on Nov 6

By MetaPatchAI News Team · Edited by MetaPatchAI Staff · Based on Paraglacial's V 0.1.4 patch notes on Steam and THQ Nordic's press release

Primary sources: Steam announcement, "Fatekeeper Feature Update V 0.1.4 - Gamepad Support & Localization" (Paraglacial, posted Oct 30, 2026, ~1:14 PM ET); THQ Nordic press release via Games Press (Oct 30, 2026). Rechecked Oct 31, 2026; Steam price $9.99 at 12:05 PM ET.

Oct 30, 2026: Controller support took Paraglacial longer than planned, and the team apologized for the wait. Now it's here. Paraglacial's first-person action RPG Fatekeeper, in Early Access on Steam and published by THQ Nordic, got Patch V 0.1.4 on Oct 30. It adds full gamepad support, five new languages and a long list of combat changes. There's also a deadline: THQ Nordic says the Steam price will rise to $14.99 / €14.99 on November 6, 2026, up from the current $9.99 / €9.99.

Controller support: what to expect

The developers say "Getting controller support implemented has turned out to be quite a bit more time-consuming than we initially anticipated," and they apologized for the wait. THQ Nordic's release calls it "full controller support (with a bit of extra polish for certain menus still to come)." In its Oct 26 devlog, the team named the skill tree as one menu that still needs work.

New languages

German, French, Russian, Ukrainian and Simplified Chinese are now in the game. The team admits some translations "are still in an earlier iteration" and says more languages will follow.

Combat and gameplay changes

From the official patch notes:

  • Archers are less accurate. Enemy archer accuracy was reworked so arrows "should no longer feel quite so unerringly precise," and archers react more strongly when disrupted.
  • Spell range up, including Firespark.
  • Tremor and Elemental Fortress are "significantly" stronger.
  • Fire Trap and Frost Trap are more effective, and the Fire Trap and Ice Trap visual effects were "significantly updated."
  • Explosive Bombs and Shrapnel Bombs are "significantly" more effective, and more grenade ingredients now appear in the world.
  • Movement speed up "approximately 15%."
  • Unarmed fix: weapon coatings and damage scaling now work when fighting unarmed.
  • Dodge fix: enemies no longer warp toward your new position when you dodge.
  • Better attack camera movement, weapon sway and crosshair hit feedback, plus more melee and block tuning.
  • Loot: new clubs and amulets, and many chests reworked "to make exploration more rewarding."
  • Fixed duration and efficiency calculations for ingredients and crafted items.

UI, visuals and performance

  • Optional boss health bars (toggle on/off)
  • Alchemy effects summarized in item descriptions, plus short alchemy tutorial windows
  • First pass at improved blood and gore
  • Unreal Engine updated to 5.8.3, with adjusted Medium scalability settings
  • New toggle for the FOV effect when you start and stop sprinting

THQ Nordic's release also mentions "a reworked inventory with an alchemy belt."

What's next

Paraglacial says "a few smaller follow-up patches over the coming weeks" will polish controller behavior and translations. After that, the main focus moves to "the first substantial content update," which is "planned for this winter." THQ Nordic's release also stresses that 0.1.4 "is all about polish rather than new content."

Should you buy before Nov 6?

If Fatekeeper is on your wishlist, buying before Nov 6 saves you $5 / €5 at the stated prices. Keep in mind it's still Early Access: content is limited until the winter update arrives.
