Phantom Blade Zero PC Settings Guide: What the Official Sources Say

Phantom Blade Zero PC Settings Guide: What the Official Sources Say

Nothing here was tested by MetaPatchAI. This guide brings together what the developer (S-GAME) and NVIDIA have published. We don't give a full preset because no official one exists.

Steps (do these first)

  1. Check your PC against the official specs (S-GAME, Aug 12, 2026). All tiers need Windows 10/11 64-bit and DirectX 12, plus an SSD:
  2. Minimum, 1080p/30 FPS (with upscaling enabled): i7-8700K / Ryzen 5 3600, GTX 1660 6GB / RX 5500 XT 8GB, 16 GB RAM
  3. Recommended, 1440p/60 FPS (with upscaling enabled): i5-10600K / Ryzen 5 5600X, RTX 3060 Ti 8GB / RX 6700 XT 12GB, 16 GB RAM
  4. Ray tracing recommended, 1080p/60 FPS (with upscaling enabled): RTX 5060 8GB (S-GAME lists the GPU only)
  5. Path tracing recommended, 2160p/60 FPS (with upscaling enabled): RTX 5080 16GB (S-GAME lists the GPU only)
  6. Install it on an SSD. S-GAME lists the SSD as required. The game is about 145 GB (Steam). S-GAME's "Ready your blade!" post said to keep at least 300 GB free for the pre-load. It doesn't say whether that also applies to a normal install.
  7. Check your NVIDIA driver before you update. In its launch letter, S-GAME reports instability on NVIDIA driver 621.01 and recommends rolling back to 617.42 (clean install) until NVIDIA releases its next driver. That conflicts with the earlier pre-load post, which said to update to the latest driver. Follow the newer launch-letter advice and watch for an update from S-GAME.
  8. Turn on upscaling. Every official FPS target assumes it's on. NVIDIA confirms DLSS 4.5 support. As a general rule, use the upscaler made for your GPU brand.
  9. Turn on path tracing only if you have high-end RTX hardware. Per NVIDIA, path tracing automatically turns on DLSS Ray Reconstruction on GeForce RTX GPUs.
  10. Add frame generation last. NVIDIA says Dynamic Multi Frame Generation can go up to 6X, or change the multiplier on the fly to hit a target frame rate you pick. Frame generation works best when your base frame rate is already steady.
  11. Set your display ratio. S-GAME's launch letter confirms support for 16:9 monitors and TVs, 16:10 laptops and handhelds, and ultrawide displays beyond 3:1.
  12. Can't run it? Phantom Blade Zero is also on GeForce NOW, which launched it the same week as its Steam release (NVIDIA GFN Thursday, Oct 29, 2026).

What we're not giving you

Third-party outlets publish per-setting presets and menu names, such as "Super Resolution Output Scale", Dynamic Resolution targets of 30/60, and FSR 4.1 / XeSS 2.0 versions. None of these are confirmed by S-GAME or NVIDIA, so we haven't included values.

NVIDIA's headline numbers are up to 320 FPS on an RTX 5090 and up to 240 FPS on an RTX 5080. NVIDIA measured these with a fixed 6X frame generation multiplier, max settings and path tracing on. NVIDIA doesn't state the resolution for these figures.

Confirmed / Not confirmed

Confirmed (official): the minimum, recommended, ray tracing and path tracing spec tiers, with every FPS target assuming upscaling is on (S-GAME); Windows 10/11 64-bit; DirectX 12; SSD required; about 145 GB (Steam); at least 300 GB free for the pre-load (S-GAME); the driver advice (S-GAME launch letter: roll back from 621.01 to 617.42); DLSS 4.5; Ray Reconstruction turning on with path tracing; Dynamic MFG up to 6X or a target frame rate; NVIDIA's 320 FPS (RTX 5090) and 240 FPS (RTX 5080) figures at fixed 6X, max settings and path tracing; the aspect ratios (launch letter); GeForce NOW availability. Not confirmed: in-game menu names and value ranges, FSR/XeSS versions, Reflex behavior, any recommended "best settings" preset, VRAM needs per setting, the resolution behind NVIDIA's 320/240 FPS figures, which GPUs Dynamic MFG requires, Steam Deck status, and whether the 300 GB free-space advice applies beyond pre-loading.
