R.E.P.O. v0.5.0 "The Sunstone Update" Is Live: New Map, a Pony, Gamepad Support and 21 Languages

Oct 30, 2026: Pack up your cart, semibots. semiwork has released R.E.P.O. v0.5.0, "The Sunstone Update," which the studio calls its fourth major update. The patch notes went up on Steam on Oct 29, 2026, and they're long: a whole new level, a new enemy, controller support, localization into 21 languages, 18 new rooms in existing maps, new items, and a long list of balance changes and fixes. Here are the highlights.

The headline additions

From semiwork's official notes:

  • New map: Sunstone Valley Resort.
  • New enemy: Pony. (The notes give no details beyond the name, so expect to find out the hard way.)
  • Gamepad support.
  • Localization in 21 languages.
  • 10 new cosmetics, plus a mirror next to the Cosmetic Machine in the shop.
  • Expression wheel with previews and mouse/gamepad support.
  • Adjustable "grab lead" for mouse and gamepad, so held objects and melee swings can move ahead of your aim. Grabbing and melee have separate settings.

18 new rooms in existing levels

The update also expands the current maps:

Level New rooms
Headman Manor 5
Swiftbroom Academy 4
Museum of Human Art 4 (plus 1 new music track)
McJannek Station 5

New items and shop tricks

  • Human Gun, Human Adventure Cable and Recharge Orb are new items.
  • Haggling, sort of: you can now hold items up to the Shopkeeper "for a chance at a discount... or having the item destroyed!"
  • While you're in the shop, the map shows a shopping list of what's waiting at the extraction point.

Quality-of-life changes worth knowing

  • Tumble Climb has been reworked, with smoother camera follow for climbing and swinging.
  • Fewer loading freezes, and your microphone now stays live between levels.
  • As a death head, you can now discover valuables.
  • Vehicles now use toggle grab by default. Staffs must be lowered between casts.
  • Held objects are steadier at high strength.

Balance: the anti-soft-lock fix

The most useful balance change for groups: if there aren't enough valuables left to finish extraction, new smaller valuables now spawn a short distance from players, which should end runs that get stuck short of the goal. Other changes:

  • Elsa builds less overcharge in small form when not stunned.
  • Several Manor valuables were adjusted: the Dinosaur is less fragile, the Coffin and Piano are lighter, and the Radio, Camera and Diamond Display are worth more.
  • The Museum Baby Head and Swiftbroom Master Potion are worth more, and the McJannek Flamethrower is lighter.
  • An Arena racing track piece that "eventually became impossible to clear" has been fixed.

Notable fixes

Among the fixes, semiwork says it has: - Fixed save files that could become corrupted if the game was opened more than once at the same time. - Stopped modded clients joining a lobby without appearing on the player list. - Fixed health sharing taking 10 HP when the target needed less. - Made various voice chat playback and reconnect fixes. - Fixed the money bag not spawning in an extraction edge case.

What's confirmed / not confirmed

Confirmed (semiwork, official Steam patch notes, Oct 29, 2026): everything listed above, including the new map, Pony enemy, gamepad support, 21-language localization, 10 cosmetics, 18 new rooms, three new items, and the listed balance changes and fixes.

Not confirmed / not stated: - Which 21 languages were added (the notes give only the number). - What the Pony enemy does, or its stats. - Whether this update also reaches any non-Steam platform. The notes are Steam-only. - Any roadmap or date for the next major update. - Whether older saves or existing mods stay compatible. The notes don't say, so back up saves if you mod.

We haven't played v0.5.0 yet. This article summarizes the official notes only.
