Terrible Lizards Is Out: A No-Weapons Dinosaur Horror Parkour Game on PC, PS5 and Xbox

Oct 30, 2026: Your car dies on Route 66 in 1992, the only place nearby is a creepy roadside dinosaur park, and the dinosaurs are hunting you. That's Terrible Lizards, a first-person horror parkour game from WDR Studios. It launched Oct 29, 2026 on PC (Steam and Epic), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It's published by Digital Pajamas and Behaviour Interactive (the Dead by Daylight studio).

You get no guns. Per the Steam page: "There are no weapons except your wits."

The setup

According to the Steam store description, the game takes place at Dalton's Dinos, "the once must-see Route 66 roadside attraction baking under the New Mexico sun." The staff are gone. A voice on a phone inside the park asks you to find a missing child, and "you'll soon find that you are not alone inside the attraction."

The store page lists four headline features:

  • Horror meets parkour: outrun "unstoppable creatures using fluid, momentum-driven movement"
  • A mystery buried: explore the crumbling attraction "and discover the nightmares below it"
  • No weapons: "combat is not an option"
  • Environmental storytelling: collect tapes, notes and recordings to piece together what happened

How it plays, per the developer

In the PlayStation Blog post, studio and game director John W. Gelardi says the moves include "runs, jumps, sliding, wall running, bounces, as well as grabbing ledges and leaping from ledge to ledge," plus tools for manipulating each level.

Two design details stand out:

  • Fixed max speed: "you're always going the maximum speed whenever you can move and jump: it's fixed, which makes it predictable and rhythmic at the same time."
  • Air control: momentum carries forward, and players "can use aerial control to correct an over jump."

Gelardi says the team built the movement around "the movement styles of popular first-person action shooters" so it would feel different from other parkour games. He also says the team is made up of "first-time game developers," most of them "creators coming from the online space." He has run a YouTube channel himself.

The name is literal, too. Gelardi notes that "dinosaur" comes from the Greek for "terrible lizard."
