Monster Hunter Outlanders Is Out Now on iOS and Android, With the Charge Blade Arriving at Launch

Oct 30, 2026: Monster Hunter is now on phones as a full survival-hunting game. Monster Hunter Outlanders, developed by TiMi Studio Group under license from Capcom, officially launched on iOS and Android on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026. It launched with eight weapon types, including the newly revealed Charge Blade, a new original Elder Dragon, four-player co-op, and controller support for core hunting.

The short version

  • Platforms: iOS and Android
  • Launch date: Oct. 29, 2026 (the mainland China version is planned for "2027 or later")
  • Developer: TiMi Studio Group, under license from CAPCOM Co., Ltd.
  • Weapons at launch (8): Great Sword, Long Sword, Dual Blades, Hammer, Lance, Charge Blade, Heavy Bowgun and Bow. More weapon types are planned in future updates.
  • Headline monster: the original Elder Dragon Ruger Aidal
  • Multiplayer: solo, or squads of up to four
  • Controllers: supported for hunts, the quest system and world exploration at launch

What kind of game is it?

According to TiMi's launch press release, Outlanders is "a new survival hunting action game for smartphones." It's set on an island called Aesoland with its own ecosystem, and crafting is a core feature.

Radiant monsters and a sun-like Elder Dragon

The new threat is Radiant Species: monsters transformed by the island's environment. At launch you'll face Ruger Aidal, an original Elder Dragon the press release describes as "shining like a blazing sun."

Weapons tied to Adventurers

Instead of a single custom hunter, each weapon type is paired with a distinct Adventurer. TiMi says the pairings unlock "all-new follow-up moves" while keeping the core hunting feel. The Charge Blade, revealed for the first time in the launch trailer, switches between Sword Mode and Axe Mode.

Buddies

Three Buddy types join you on hunts: Palico, Rutaco and Trillan, each with its own personality.

Launch events

From the press release:

  • "Flowing Maple Melody": a hunting challenge event featuring the Long Sword Adventurer Midori, starting at launch
  • "A Melody Echoing Through the Maples": an event where you can try Midori
  • Recruitment: TiMi says players can earn enough recruitment items for "more than 400 recruitment attempts in total." That points to a character-recruitment (gacha-style) system, though the release doesn't use that term.
  • Adventurer's Guild Campaign (Oct. 29 to Nov. 30): if combined guild levels across all servers reach a milestone, everyone unlocks a "Let's Set Off" sticker and an honorary title
  • "The Great Hunt" livestream: a creator and streamer showcase with in-game codes and prizes; the schedule is on the official X account

TiMi also says launch billboards are up at the Nasdaq and One Times Square sites in New York and at a Berlin location.

Controller support: a work in progress

TiMi is unusually candid about this: "Given the limited development time, we've started by adapting controls for hunts, the quest system, and world exploration." The team says it's still extending controller support to other parts of the game and improving the overall controller experience.
