What Sony announced: a line called the Prism Collection, with transparent DualSense controllers and matching PS5 console covers in three colors (Flare Orange, Emerald Green, Graphite Gray). Sony lists the controller at $84.99 and the covers at $74.99 in the U.S. Pre-orders start Nov. 10 at 7 a.m. PT / 10 a.m. ET in the U.S. and at 10 a.m. local time in the listed European countries. The release starts Feb. 4, 2027, and Sony notes dates can differ by region. Sony will sell the covers itself, where available, only in the U.S., U.K. and nine other European countries. Elsewhere it says retailers will carry limited stock.
MetaPatchAI take: what it means for players
- It's a look, not a hardware upgrade. Sony describes design changes only and announces no new features, so you'd pay $84.99 for the transparent shell and finish.
- Covers are the hard part. If you're outside the 11 direct-sale countries, expect limited retailer stock. Pre-order on day one if you want a matching set.
- Timing: pre-orders open Nov. 10, ahead of the holidays, but delivery is Feb. 4. If you're buying it as a gift, it won't arrive by the holidays.
