Witchbrook Release Date Set: Jan. 28, 2027, at $24.99, Day One on Game Pass and PS5

Dek: Nearly a decade after its 2017 reveal, Chucklefish's witch-school life sim launches on six platforms at once. Here's the cheapest way to play.

Originally reported by: Chucklefish's Witchbrook dev blog and the Chucklefish press release on Games Press. Neither names an individual author; both are credited to Chucklefish. Also reported by Game Informer (Charles Harte).

The news: Chucklefish used Nintendo's Oct. 28 Indie World to date Witchbrook for Jan. 28, 2027. It also announced a PS5 version that launches the same day as PC, Switch, Switch 2, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The press release puts the price at $24.99, says regional prices will come later, and confirms the game is on Xbox Game Pass from launch. Robotality is co-developing it. The game supports online co-op for up to four players.

MetaPatchAI take

  • Cheapest way in: Game Pass subscribers can play at launch without buying the game. Everyone else pays $24.99, which is typical indie pricing.
  • Long road: Game Informer notes the game was first revealed in 2017 and had most recently been slated for 2026. That makes the January date a short slip past that window.
  • Platform pick: it launches on every major platform on the same day. Chucklefish hasn't announced cross-play, so co-op may require everyone on the same platform.
  • Who it's for: fans of Stardew Valley-style life sims. Chucklefish published Stardew Valley, according to its own media page.
